Top hacks to planning your next trip
Skyscanner’s Travel Trends Forecaster Naomi Hahn has shared her top four hacks to make planning a breeze while we’re all getting back to travel:
Be price smart: “Setting up price alerts will ensure you’re the first to know as prices drop with any additional discounts or added supply. You can mark a flight you’re interested in and Skyscanner will email you whenever the price goes up or down.”
Be flexible with dates: “Searching by multiple dates and airports will give you the best chance of a bargain. Flight prices are all based on supply and demand. Because some dates are more popular than others, prices will vary. The ‘whole month’ search tool allows you to see cheap flights at a glance and pick the right deal for you. Consider travelling a day before or a day after your original departure dates, flying on less popular days of the week is always cheaper.”
Try a new destination: “If you don’t have a fixed destination in mind for your holiday, you can search ‘Everywhere’ on Skyscanner – it’s a great way to see what’s available, ordered by price, and can inspire you to go somewhere you’ve never been before. In fact, 47% of Aussie travellers told us they are planning to explore new destinations this year.”
Mix & Match to save $$: “Mix and matching the airlines and airports you choose to fly with and from can seriously cut costs. Fares don’t have to be booked as returns, look at flying out with one airline and back with another, or out of one airport and back into another, can save money.”
For further travel planning we’d also suggest you plan around your loves.
Arts & Culture: We’ve been locked away from the rest of the world for so long – now is the perfect time to get out and explore the best of arts and culture. Plan your next trip around the best art galleries in the world.
Chase the Sun: Don’t want to get stuck in another cold, wet and windy winter? Ensure you are forever chasing the sun and living your best summer life all the time with the best beaches in Europe.
