Get to know Pemberton Pool before you plan a visit.

Talk about scenic – we’d be happy to lounge around Pemberton Pool pretty much all day if given the chance.

While there are many swimming holes throughout Western Australia, Pemberton Pool approximately 4 hours south of Perth is definitely something else.

This historic swimming pool was built in the late 1920s for the families of timber workers and has remained an iconic destination for generations of locals and tourists alike over the years.

You’ll be welcomed by a lush green Karri forest reflecting off glistening water, setting the perfect scene for a quick dip, relaxing picnic, or cruisy hike.

Where is Pemberton Pool?

Pemberton may never have been on your road trips radar, but you can find Pemberton Pool right in the centre of town nestled on the Lefroy Brook next to the Pemberton Mountain Bike Park.

How was the pool created?

The large pool was created by damming a section of Lefroy Brook, which runs west to east through the Park.

There are three sections to the pool – a small toddler area, a kid’s area, and the main area. The water height ranges from knee and chest-deep for the little ones and is very deep in the main part. You’ll also find a large floating platform in the water in case you need a rest stop or just want to lie back and soak in the serenity.

Is it safe to swim in Pemberton Pool?

Yes, you can swim here. Don’t be deterred by the darker colour of the water, it’s flowing and fresh so therefore safe to swim in.
