Las Vegas is about to go F1 crazy as the city will play host to a night F1 event in 2023.

Book your flights and hotel accommodation now as Las Vegas will play host to a night F1 event in November 2023.

The entertainment capital of the world has now signed up the number one global motorsport event for a 2023 race event that will guarantee to be like no other.

While Las Vegas hosted races in 1981 and 1982, this however will be the first time F1 cars will race on the iconic Las Vegas Strip, with the circuit sweeping past famous hotels and casinos.

While F1 fans are understandably excited by the recent announcement as the famous Las Vegas strip will play host to the world’s most highly-tuned performance cars, the drivers themselves are also pumped for the F1 Las Vegas 2023 race.

“That’s going to be a pretty hardcore event,” said seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton.

AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly probably summed it up perfectly, saying: “That’s going to be insane.”

When will the F1 Las Vegas race be on?

There is no firm date yet, however, we do know that the Las Vegas Grand Prix will take place on a Saturday next November and will now be one of three races in the United States, joining Miami and Austin.

What will the race track be like?

The 14-turn track will run for 3.8 miles (6.12km) with top speeds expected to hit around 212mph (342km/h).

The design features three straights, a high-speed cornering sequence and a single chicane section, with the Grand Prix to be run over 50 laps.

F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali expressed his excitement for the F1 Las Vegas event;

“This is an incredible moment for Formula 1 that demonstrates the huge appeal and growth of our sport with a third race in the US. Las Vegas is a destination known around the world for its excitement, hospitality, thrills, and of course, the famous Strip.”

“There is no better place for Formula 1 to race than in the global entertainment capital of the world and we cannot wait to be here next year.”
