Scoot Airline, I choose you!
Back in July, budget airline Scoot unveiled a Pokémon-themed B787-9 Dreamliner aptly named the Pikachu Jet TR. Now, the airline has revealed a date for the ultimate Pokémon fan’s dream vessel to take to the skies as it gets set to fly from Singapore to Tokyo on September 9th, 2022.
In truly eye-catching fashion, the entire outside of the plane is decorated with totally adorable animations of Generation I and II Pokémon like Meganium, Psyduck, Lapras, and the star himself – Pikachu. Plus, rumour has it there are some hidden little characters hiding on the sides of the wings, so keep your Poké senses on high alert.
What you can expect flying the Pokémon plane
Though the outside is really the showstopper, the interior will stick with the theme of offering fans a trip not to be forgotten. There will be specially designed Pikachu amenities on board such as cups, serviettes, and meal containers, and guests will also have the chance to purchase Scoot x Pokémon Merchandise like bucket hats, bags, and collectors edition items.
Flight details
Being a low-cost airline, it appears that the Pikachu Jet will only be performing short-haul flights in Asia for the moment, and flight routes for the jet will rotate every two to three months. The airline says one-way ticket fares will begin at S$333 (US$239) and S$231 (US$166), respectively.
